Visit with Santa

Sunday we went to Columbus to visit my dad - who is currently at a rehab facility to recuperate after having broken his leg which required surgery.  I was thrilled when I found out they were having a Christmas Party! So the girls were able to visit with Santa!!! No long lines, or outrageous fees for photos! YAY!!!!

The rehab facility is attached to a retirement community - which is where the party was...many of the residents enjoyed watching Madilynn dance around to the Christmas music that was playing. We had a great time! Such a nice little added bonus to our visit with Papaw-Jim.

Madilynn's Holiday Program - 2012

Here is the video I took of Madilynn at her school's Holiday Program.
She did good -no crying....but as you will see, not much of anything else either!
It is around 3 min....Enjoy!

Meredith is 4 months old!!!

Meredith is 4 months old already!!! Ok, well 5 days ago...but Mommy has had issues with uploading photos - but finally got it all figured out....so here are the latest....

The month of November was a rough one for the girls. Meredith awoke one night with a high fever and a barking cough (of course while Matt was working nights). Was luckily able to wait till the office opened at 8, and got her right in to see the Dr where we found out not only did she have croup, but she also had an ear infection and was put on steroids and antibiotics. Then just as she was finishing up her antibiotics Madilynn contracted hand foot and mouth, which she so lovingly shared with her baby sister. Luckily neither one of the girls got it very bad, however we did decide to stay at home over Thanksgiving to allow the girls time to rest and get better.
Of course there were several nights while Meredith was sick that I felt like I had a newborn at home again, with her waking every couple hours...poor thing. (And of course Madilynn always has to throw in a late night waking at some point too!)
Now that she is doing much better we are back to sleeping most of the night, with waking usually around 3or 4. Often I'm the one that wakes before she does!
She is also really starting to roll from her back to her stomach more and more! A couple times she has made it from her stomach to her back...but usually she just gets really upset when on her stomach (we don't do nearly enough tummy time- although the only floor time she gets is when Madilynn is eating or sleeping!)
We pushed back her 4 month appointment a week so she would have more time to get better before she gets her shots...so next week we will know her stats. I think she is close to 12 pounds if I remember correctly from the appointments this month. She is quickly growing out of her 3 month clothes, and moving on to her 6 month ones...and depending on the material....some of her sleepers are 9 months (cotton ones that I'm sure have shrunk a bit).
Still sucks on her fingers, or thumb....not much of a preference...which ever she can get in her mouth. Perhaps more her left hand and anywhere from 1 to 4 fingers at a time!
We haven't started feeding her cereal yet, but that is next on the agenda!

Now for a few photos from this month...

We got out her jumper, though she is only allowed in this when Madilynn is not around...otherwise I'm sure she would end up with whip-lash! She is still too little, we have to put pillows under her feet, but she really seems to like looking at all the animals on it.

Here's a photo after a bath....so you can see her crazy wings...I mean hair...

This is why Meredith doesn't get much time on the floor - Madilynn has to be right there beside her...or on top of her....so playtime gets cut short when she is around...

This one makes me laugh...not very flattering of Meredith...but remember she's been sick...
November was full of crying babies, and sleepless nights....and surprisingly it still flew by. I know December will go by even quicker....here's to trying to enjoy each day we have...and making the time SLOW DOWN!!!

Meredith's Baptism

A couple more photos of Meredith in her baptism dress. She wore the same gown Madilynn wore, it was made by GiGi...they both wore it beautifully!

Happy Halloween!

Though we missed school's Halloween Party, and will not be Trick or Treating (due to the yucky rainy/snowy weather we had from Hurricane Sandy) Mommy still had to get some photos of us in our costumes.

Lady Bug

Photo shoot included many animal crackers....

And a few verses of Old MacDonald...

White Tiger

Maybe next year the weather will cooperate....this year we'll just stay nice and warm inside!

Meredith's Baptism - October 28, 2012

Meredith was baptized Sunday October 28, 2012 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church here in Chillicothe.  Her godparents are Uncle Jason, and Aunt Katie.
Even though Meredith was awake all through mass, she was able to make it through the baptism without too much fussing. She was very interested in what Father Hummer had to say, and paid close attention!

Big sister Madilynn even got a special blessing...

Here we are with her grandparents and great-grandparents that were able to go...we missed GiGi (who was in South Carolina) and Great-grandma Blazer (who was in Florida).

Great Grandma Rosie made the cake - it was delicious, in fact I took some of the leftovers into work, and everyone wanted to know where I  got it from, they were disappointed when it wasn't a store they could go to....

Here they are at the party with cousins Reagan and Ryleigh.

Unfortunately I did not get any other photos from the party - we appreciate everyone coming to share in Meredith's special day. It was so nice to see everyone!

She had a wonderful day - so much so she ended up sleeping all night long!!!
 Made Mommy so Happy!!!

Meredith is 3 months old!

Can you tell them apart?!?
The first one is Madilynn, the second is Meredith.

It's so hard to believe three months have already gone by, and mommy is already back to work! Meredith is such a great baby, now that mommy knows that when she gets fussy it is because she wants to go to bed! She generally goes to bed by 8:30, she goes down after Madilynn has been tucked in.  She is doing really well at night and typically wakes only once in the night (occasionally twice), usually sometime between 1 and 3.   The other night she rolled onto her stomach  - TWICE!!! Of course this was between 3 and 4 am....and it is safe to say she does NOT like being on her stomach....boy was she MAD! I sure am glad we have the video monitor so I could see what her problem was, and didn't just try to let her "cry it out"!!!
She seems to like daycare, she is doing really well with naps, and takes her bottles just fine.
This past month she has really started to smile and coo....so very cute and fun!!!
She really likes it when people talk to her, especially her big sister...well except for when she is sleeping and Madilynn gets in her face and yells "BABY!!! BABY!!! BABY!!!".  Meredith is a lot like her sister in that she likes to be held facing out so she can see what is going on, she loves just watching everything and taking it all in.

Madilynn sharing her books with her....

Here she is sucking her thumb...though lately she generally sucks on anywhere from 2 to 4 fingers....no hand or fingers in particular - just whatever she can get in there...

Typically she spends her time in her bouncy seat or swing...those are the safest places when Miss Madilynn is around....though sometimes even those places get pretty wild depending on how excited Madilynn gets.

Until next time...
