Meredith is 7 months old!

Well February 24th came and went - and my baby is now 7 months old! She is getting so big!
(the 7 month sticker is no longer sticking...so I had to improvise...)

Not very often is her sister far away. They both really love each other, and enjoy being together!

Meredith is now a pro at sitting up - no longer does she need this pillow behind her! She isn't able to get into the sitting position by herself yet - but she is pretty close! She's just about grown out of her bouncy seat now - I think it is getting too dangerous...too often she tries to sit up / forward and looks like she could fall out! She's very nosey and likes to see what is going on....much like her sister....though Meredith seems to be more of a do-er than an analyzer.

Now that Meredith is on the move she doesn't lay on this playmat too much anymore (not that she had much room to herself anyway).

Loves to chew on anything and everything! Her first tooth finally peeked through this month (bottom left)...and now the second is on it's way (bottom right).

Daddy's been working a lot lately, but she does enjoy hanging out with him when she gets the chance!

Madilynn still likes to bring her all of her toys...

That little grin is all hers.....too cute!

Notice the first photo she only had one open...like I said she is a do-er!

Usually while I am getting dinner ready they aren't too far from each other!
One evening I kept hearing Madilynn saying "I rolled it! I rolled it!"  I peeked in to find that "it" was Meredith! She was rolling her from her stomach to her back....luckily Meredith was just laughing away....thank goodness!

Notice she is sans socks....if she were awake she would be chewing on them (or her toes)!

Meredith is likely just under 16 lbs, since at her last Dr visit she was 15 lbs 5 oz. She is running just a tad shorter and lighter than Madilynn was at this age. She is doing well with her vegetables, and usually gets them mixed with cereal for dinner. We are now starting fruits...if she is anything like her sister she will LOVE these!
She is still waking at least once  (more often twice)  a night. I think she is not eating much during the day, and is trying to make up for it at night. Not sure what we'll do since she doesn't seem to want to eat during the day...but mommy sure would like to sleep more at night!
Meredith isn't crawling yet, but she sure is getting around just fine...she has the army crawl down!
I'm hoping the weather starts to turn warmer since many of her current clothes are starting to get too small...not to mention her feet likely get pretty cold without those socks!! She's still in 6 month clothes, though many of the pants are getting too short. We are into 9 month sleepers.
She still sucks on her first two fingers on her left hand....I just hope I'm not still saying this when she is 7 YEARs old!!! She also enjoys her jumper...as you will see below.
She is getting so big - we can't wait to see what this month has in store!

Here are a couple videos...one of her army crawl, and the other of her in her jumper!

Madilynn is 2 years old!

Our Miss Madilynn turned 2 years old this past Sunday! Where did the time go? This time last year she was just learning to walk....and now she is running around, jumping, skipping, climbing - singing, counting, recognizing colors and shapes and animals. She is also becoming such a great big sister!

"Cheese"

"Cheese" She LOVES coloring with her markers as you can tell...she is mainly right handed - but sometimes uses her left.

We had a birthday party for her Saturday - complete with a Mickey Cake!

She got several gifts including: a tricycle that "grows" with her, and a helmet; puzzles; books; towels; a Minnie yacht, complete with Daisy and Pluto; a stuffed horsey; money; animal/letter flash cards; Horton Hears a Who - so Aunt Katie doesn't have to watch Mickey all the time when she comes to babysit!

She did a great job blowing out the candle - complete with a bit of spit on the cake!

After the party these two were worn out!

Mommy made a Mickey pancake for the Birthday girl Sunday morning!

She loves these Hello Kitty boots we got as hand me downs from the Overmyers!

Still loves reading books before bed! Notice her arm around Meredith - such a great big sister!

Highlights:
Madilynn is talking much more - though apparently Matt and I are the only ones that can usually understand what she is saying.
We haven't tackled potty-training yet - but she did get a portable potty seat for her birthday - so perhaps we will try soon! Less diapers would be great!
Madilynn is still a fruit girl - loves any kind - would eat it all day if you let her! Still a pretty good eater otherwise - though she does become picky on certain occasions.
Favorite TV shows are "Mickey" - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse; and "Rocket" - Little Einsteins. Favorite color - purple.
Favorite toy to sleep with - the Mickey and Minnie the girls got for Christmas - good thing Meredith doesn't know any better!
She still sucks her thumb - generally when ready for bed.
Still occasionally naps on the floor in front of her door rather than in her bed. Luckily still takes a nap - usually anywhere from 1-2 hrs daily after lunch.
Cute things she says: "bless you mommy" when I sneeze or blow my nose; "careful Daddy" when he is leaving for work; "3-2-blastoff" not sure where this came from, or why she doesn't say the 1;  still refers to Meredith as "baby sister" or "baby"; "I running, I running" as she runs back and forth across the living room; "chocate milk" when she wants her drink - I've even had her wake up and heard her yelling for her Chocolate Milk - must have been pretty thirsty!
She also enjoys going to Music Time at the library on Tuesdays with Meredith and Mommy.
Her official 2 year old check up is delayed till late March...but at a recent appointment she weighed 25 pounds. She is wearing mostly 2T, though some 3T shirts, or 18 months pants will fit her.
That's all I can think of....it's been a crazy year - full of such great memories - so looking forward to what this next year has to bring!

Well - the first night of carrots she did great - the second night she gagged on most every bite - then ended up puking everything back up all over herself, me, and the living room floor! Guess carrots wasn't such a great choice for 1st food....perhaps we'll try squash tonight.

Meredith is 6 months old!

Though I keep saying the two girls look so different....there are some things about them that do make them look a bit alike....check out both of their 6 month photos....

Meredith is very into chewing on things....so of course this bow is oh so tempting.

Had trouble getting her to smile - here she is smiling as she was watching Tugger.

He of course had to sneak in a kiss or two...

Not much has changed since the previous post (mainly because it has only been a couple weeks since I posted her 5month update due to their illness). We are up to cereal twice a day, and will soon be adding in some of the vegetables and fruits. We don't go for her 6 month appointment for another week ...but she is somewhere just over 14 pounds. She rolls to get around, and works hard to get herself to where she wants to go. She doesn't crawl to get there - just kind of turns herself in the direction she wants to go, then rolls. She is still such a fan of her big sister, and loves it when Madilynn pays attention to her. She is pretty laid back much like her sister was. The other day the lady at daycare was talking about how there were 5 babies there - 4 of them crying, and Meredith just sitting there hanging out. Her fussiness mainly appears when she is tired and ready for a nap. She doesn't spend much time in the swing anymore - she would much rather take her nap in her crib (probably for the peace and quiet). Hair is still brown, though very light, and her eyes are starting to turn more brown. She's a fan off sucking on her 2 first fingers on her left hand....or her toes once she gets her sock off! She needs a bit of help with sitting - she still falls over fairly easily. Still no teeth.
That's about all there is to report for this past month. Here are just a couple photos from January...

Madilynn did such a great job of holding it herself...she is Miss Independent!

Until next time....
