Well - the first night of carrots she did great - the second night she gagged on most every bite - then ended up puking everything back up all over herself, me, and the living room floor! Guess carrots wasn't such a great choice for 1st food....perhaps we'll try squash tonight.

Meredith is 6 months old!

Though I keep saying the two girls look so different....there are some things about them that do make them look a bit alike....check out both of their 6 month photos....

Meredith is very into chewing on things....so of course this bow is oh so tempting.

Had trouble getting her to smile - here she is smiling as she was watching Tugger.

He of course had to sneak in a kiss or two...

Not much has changed since the previous post (mainly because it has only been a couple weeks since I posted her 5month update due to their illness). We are up to cereal twice a day, and will soon be adding in some of the vegetables and fruits. We don't go for her 6 month appointment for another week ...but she is somewhere just over 14 pounds. She rolls to get around, and works hard to get herself to where she wants to go. She doesn't crawl to get there - just kind of turns herself in the direction she wants to go, then rolls. She is still such a fan of her big sister, and loves it when Madilynn pays attention to her. She is pretty laid back much like her sister was. The other day the lady at daycare was talking about how there were 5 babies there - 4 of them crying, and Meredith just sitting there hanging out. Her fussiness mainly appears when she is tired and ready for a nap. She doesn't spend much time in the swing anymore - she would much rather take her nap in her crib (probably for the peace and quiet). Hair is still brown, though very light, and her eyes are starting to turn more brown. She's a fan off sucking on her 2 first fingers on her left hand....or her toes once she gets her sock off! She needs a bit of help with sitting - she still falls over fairly easily. Still no teeth.
That's about all there is to report for this past month. Here are just a couple photos from January...

Madilynn did such a great job of holding it herself...she is Miss Independent!

Until next time....

Sledding at the farm - December 2012

Thank goodness for hand-me-downs from the Overmyers! Madilynn made good use of the snow suit they let us borrow when we went sledding at the farm.
Last year we didn't get any snow - so this is Madilynn's first time out in the white stuff....

Uncle John used the 4-wheeler to bring people back up the hill sometimes...
Madilynn enjoyed the ride!

Aunt Jenny, Uncle Chip, Emily and John, and Nate joined us as well - but by that time Madilynn was ready to go in. She went down the hill 6 or 7 times, but didn't like the snow getting in her face....so she and mommy went inside to play with Meredith and get ready for Christmas Bingo.

Christmas 2012

I received many comments regarding Tugger not making the Christmas card. So here he is...

Matt's family, including Grandma Sharon were able to come join us for Christmas. We had a wonderful dinner, great gifts, and great fun...

A Minnie Shirt from Aunt Katie and Shayne.
They also gave the girls "Twas the night before Christmas" a book they recorded for them. Shayne sounded just like Santa!!

Uncle Bryan bought Madilynn a princess tent/tunnel...she LOVES it!

Unfortunately we couldn't get Madilynn to cooperate for a family photo...so here's Matt and Meredith...

Madilynn loves climbing in baskets/boxes/crates....she was able to get Meredith to join her...

Matt worked on December 25th, so the girls and I went to Columbus to visit with Dad since he was still in the rehab facility....

After our visit with dad we were able to visit for a bit with Nicci and Aunt Val...

Christmas was spread over several days for us since we both worked several days Christmas week....we still weren't able to see everyone we would have liked, but all the moments we did have together! Looking forward to next year, both girls will be at such a fun age!!! We can't wait!

Madilynn did a great job opening all her gifts, and helped Meredith open all of hers.
Santa brought them the Kitchen as well as some play pots and pans, and play food!

Some of the gifts from mommy and daddy included for Meredith: a new ducky bath, pink blanket, a "quiet" book (so far Madilynn is really enjoying this book), and some more animals for the zoo (a elephant, hippo, and seal).  Madilynn got several new books that focus on counting, shapes and letters;  a magnetic writing board with animal shapes; a play cell phone; alphabet flash cards.

After we finished opening all of the presents we enjoyed some biscuits with jelly, then took some naps before Matt's family came to celebrate!
