Madilynn is 3 years old!

Miss Madilynn is becoming such a big girl - she recently celebrated her 3rd birthday!
She is getting a little better about letting me take her picture - but she still only smiles when she wants to....luckily I've been able to capture more and more of her fun smiles!

Just this month she has started taking gymnastic classes at the YMCA. She has only attended 2 classes so far, but really seems to enjoy her "Tumblebugs" class....

Practicing balancing....

Her 3 year check-up went well - she weighs 31 lbs and is 39.25 inches tall. She generally wears size 3T or 4T clothes, and of course favors anything purple. She is not a fan of jeans - and loves to wear dresses around the house - or to nap in! She definitely has "Clouse" feet - she is currently in a size 9 - however probably not for much longer!
Madilynn is officially potty trained - and is doing a great job making it through the night too!  Once we finally decided to send her to school in panties she has not needed pull-ups anymore - maybe we should have tried it sooner than we did!
This past week Madilynn had her first visit to the dentist....she did a great job letting them clean her teeth with the marshmallow flavored paste! No cavities - just need to work on getting her to stop sucking her thumb....but if she's anything like her mom we've still got a long ways to go!!

Madilynn really enjoys coloring, and has been working on writing her letters at school, she is getting better at recognizing some of her letters.  Just the other day we were driving home from school and passed the Midas auto-shop and she says "Hey what's my M doing up there?!?"
The things she says lately always make me smile - some common things you may hear her say:
"That's disgusting"
"You forgot, Silly Mommy"
"Sure, Anytime"
"I Don't Believe It!"
"Be careful, that's fragile"
"Everytime, the whole world"
"That's dangerous"
"Privacy, please"
"Goodness Gracious"
"Woo-Hoo Oh yeah"
"Are you kidding me?!?"
And she either calls Meredith "Mer-Mer" or "Meredith Ann"...though the other day at school her teacher asked her what her sister's name was and she replied "Trouble".

Madilynn is a great big sister - she generally tries to help get things for Meredith - or include her in what she is doing/playing.

(don't worry - they're fake)

Here she is cutting up Meredith's fruit for her...

Here they are looking at books before bed...
They found the page with the monkey and are doing the "Ooo-ooo Ahh-Ahh"

She really enjoys coloring/painting...

And now that she got some play dough for her birthday, she really enjoys playing with it...

Here are some highlights:
Favorite foods: Yogurt, any kind of fruit, chocolate pudding, French fries, Chocolate Milk
Favorite TV shows: Bubble Guppies, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dora, and Wallykazam
Favorite toy to sleep with: She doesn't really have one - her bed is full of animals - recently it has been bunnies that she has to take to bed with her, and her purple fuzzy blanket. And you never know which bed she will sleep in (since she has two twin beds in her room) - or sometimes she makes up a bed on the floor.
Naps: still takes 1 nap after lunch, and usually it is a good one ~ 2 hours!!
Activities: Music Time at the library, and now Gymnastics at the YMCA
Favorite color: Purple
Favorite outfit: Purple witch costume - or any dress
Favorite games: Hide and seek, horsey rides
She also loves singing! She'll make up songs about whatever it is she is doing - she also loves to twirl around and dance while singing her songs.

Yep, she's my chocolate girl...the other day we were at the grocery store getting some eggs when she grabbed a carton of brown eggs, and said "Wait mom, we have to get the chocolate ones!"

Maybe she'll grow up to be a Doctor rather than a Purple Witch!

That's my update on my baby girl - what big year she has had - she is growing so much, I just can't get over the things she says sometimes...you never know what she's going to say - but generally it will make you laugh! She's such a smart, caring, compassionate, independent, fun loving girl - we are truly blessed to have her in our lives! Love you Miss Madilynn!

Meredith is 18 months!

Or at least she was back in January...but because we delayed her 18 month check-up until February...I am a bit behind on updating info regarding our Miss Meredith. She is ALWAYS on the go - so I  couldn't really get a posed 18 month old photo.  You can see by the several photos below why a posed photo is essentially impossible with this little one!

Her 18 month (well almost 19 month) stats:  she weighed 20 lbs 8 oz  and was 33 inches tall.
She wears generally 18 month clothing, though some of the sleepers are even starting to look a little small. Pants still need to be full elastic waistbands so they stay up - so long as she isn't pulling them down herself!  She wears size 4 shoes.
She still sucks the first two fingers on her left hand.
She really loves her books...and even has a few favorites we read every night (one with animal sounds; 10 little fingers and 10 little toes (which she calls "Baby" since it has a baby on the front cover); Twinkle Twinkle little Star (which is full of nursery rhymes); Good Night Moon; and The Hungry Little Caterpillar.

Here she is checking out some of the books in Madilynn's room.

Meredith is still my climber - climbs on anything and everything she can. Luckily she hasn't climbed out of her crib! We hope to keep her in there as long as possible! When it comes to sleeping at night she is still doing great! She typically goes to sleep between 7:30 and 8pm, and wakes around 8 or 9 on days we don't have to go to daycare. She is down to generally 1 nap a day after lunch - but occasionally she will take 2 naps that are just shorter in length.

Here she is climbing up on things so she can look out the window in Madilynn's room...

For the most part Meredith is full of smiles!
Here she is helping me grocery shop...

Here she is enjoying the slide at Mamma's house.

Just being silly...

Meredith loves to dance and "sing" - she really enjoys Music Time at the library. She also enjoys "coloring" though she still tends to eat the markers/crayons/etc... so she doesn't get a chance to draw too often.

Her vocabulary is expanding more and more. She really only says "ma-ma", "da-da", "Bye", "baby"...she uses a couple signs including all-done, more, and please. She is getting better at recognizing different animals including the giraffe, duck, and monkey (all of which she knows the signs for).
Her favorite toys include her baby dolls, her stuffed caterpillar, balls (she's actually a pretty good thrower), and of course anything Madilynn is playing with.
She's not too into TV, but does enjoy watching bits and pieces of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dora, Bubble Guppies, and a new one called Wallykazam.

Meredith is very much into her Miss Independent phase - and generally wants to do everything herself (including feeding herself her yogurt, peeling her banana, picking out her shoes, hanging up her coat, putting her milk away...you name it she wants to do it!) She does fairly well eating - some of her favorites include yogurt, blueberries, grapes, meatballs, hot dogs, cheese, green beans, and fruit bars.

Enjoying her yogurt...

Here she is after enjoying all the chocolate off a chocolate covered pretzel...

"Tub-ba Time" is another favorite of Miss Meredith - you tell her it is "Tub-ba Time" and she goes running for the bathroom! She really loves the water...loves everything about it...practically swims in the inch of water in the tub, and loves to splash! I think she is really going to enjoy the pool this summer!

She also loves the air vents...

Other cute photos....
(bracelets - another think she really likes)

Where is the time going?  It is going way too fast...her 2nd birthday will be here before we know it!

Sledding

We got just enough snow overnight to be able to go sledding today. We took the girls across the street and used the little hill in front of our neighbors house....

They seemed to have a good time...thanks again Santa for these fun sleds!

New Year's Eve!

Well Miss Meredith wasn't about to sleep when she knew we were up waiting for the ball to drop on New Year's Eve! She came out to join us - she was really full of energy...as you can see by the video below. This was one I captured on my phone - I'm not sure what was on the TV...but she sort of looks like she is trying to do a work-out video...really she is just dancing!!!
Had to share....Enjoy - hope it plays for you!

A Snider Family Christmas

After I got off work on the 25th I drove over to New Lex to meet up with everyone (well except Matt since he was still working) and we headed out to Zanesville for the Snider Family Christmas...
I forgot to take my good camera - but here are a few photos I got with my phone...

With Reagan and Carley

Playing with cousin Will

A new "computer" that teaches letters and numbers from Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Don

A new hair salon styling kit from the Holmans.

Madilynn also got a new purple skirt, necklaces, bracelets, and rings...
She had so much fun styling every one's hair - she had so many great models!

Of course leave it to Meredith to want to climb on the box as soon as she had it unwrapped!

Meredith's gift from Aubrey included a baby carrier, bed, bag, bouncy seat, and high chair seat. She also got a new baby doll high chair from Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Don.

Meredith thought it was funny to wear around this "Ove-Glove"

Here Meredith is getting her turn on the "computer" while Madilynn wasn't looking....
We had so much fun! And were so glad we were able to get to spend time with everyone.
What a wonderful Christmas we had this year!
