10 Months Old!

Look who is 10 months old!!!

"Hi!"

Eye are still blue...

Now that Miss Madilynn is 10 months old...she is keeping mommy and daddy VERY busy! She is crawling, crawling, crawling...EVERYWHERE!!! Daddy finally had to put the cabinet locks on because she LOVES to open up all of the cabinet doors, especially the one with the stereo in it, boy did she like to turn the stereo on...and off...and on...and off....and on....and off!!!! (Needless to say we stopped that!)  She is still pulling up on everything, but just cruises along the furniture...no steps by herself...yet!  Her middle top *two* teeth have joined the party....which involved many sleepless nights for mommy and daddy. Madilynn has so much fun playing and exploring during the day we are lucky to get an hour nap....and REALLY lucky if we get two naps!  Madilynn has upgraded to a "Big Girl" car seat...and seems to enjoy it....though mommy is finding it challenging now that she is not confined to her baby carrier once we get home until mommy is ready to let her out!!
One of the cutest things she has started to do this month is wave...and say "Hi!"....which she has a ball doing...waving to the Christmas tree, and all the lights, and Santa...she says "Hi!" to them multiple times a day.  She really enjoys playing with Tugger and now will hold his toys up for him to come and get....she does pretty good at knowing which are his and which are hers...though sometimes I've found her with his bone in her mouth! YUCK!!!
She is eating more and more normal foods - mostly at daycare, because mommy is still scared of choking...but when she does get normal food she really seems to enjoy it!
Often she switches which hand she picks things up with, but most often seems to favor her right.

Yum...bananas.

This month has gone so fast - we can't believe Christmas is almost here! Madilynn has been helping in the kitchen....

Sometimes she will chew on her links and just go about her day....it is funny!

Can't wait to see what the next month holds.....

9 Months!

Boy time sure does fly! I cannot believe Miss Madilynn is already 9 months old!
Here are a few updated photos of her for you to enjoy!

She is always wanting to crawl - making it very difficult for mommy to get a good shot!

Still LOVES to stand up!

This month has been quite different from the last! Now Miss Madilynn is able to CRAWL! She started just a little over a week after she turned 8 months! Some of the things she likes to get into - Tugger's food if she comes in the kitchen, the plants in the family room, and the magazines in the family room.
She is quick, and once she gets under an end table it is difficult to get her out!!  She is pulling herself up on just about everything, though she is still only taking steps if she is holding on to you. She is getting better at sitting down, rather than just falling!
She still only has the 2 bottom teeth...I feel like for the past month I've been saying that tooth #3 is on it's way....well it still is!! It hasn't popped through yet!
Madilynn has started eating a few normal foods, such as cheerios and bananas (mommy's scared to try much else for fear of her choking!).
Still taking 2 naps (for the most part) though now they are more often close to 1 hour rather than 2-3hrs in length. Many of her clothes are either 9month or 12 months (just depends on the fit), I have had to upgrade to the 12 month sleepers since the others were getting too short, and constricting her toes!
She goes in for her 9 month check up on Tuesday, so I'll have official ht and wt then...just a few weeks ago we were in for another eye infection/clogged tear duct (hence my thinking the tooth was coming), and at that point she weighed 18 lbs 8 oz.
We did not make it out for trick or treat this 1st Halloween (that was the day she started with her eye problems, and wasn't feeling well...she slept from when I picked her up from school until bedtime!), but we did at least have an adorable outfit to wear that Aunt Rose got for her. (I'll save the costume I bought for next year, it would have probably been too big anyway).  Here are some photos of her in her Halloween outfit.

She still doesn't really say anything distinct, she babbles A LOT, especially when she is talking to Tugger. The closest to anything she "says" sounds like: I got it, and DaDa.

Here are a couple other photos for you to enjoy:

This is how she keeps busy while I am putting her clothes away....

Until next time....

8 Months!

Ok - so yes, this posting is a little late. But the photos were taken a week or so ago...when she did turn 8  months old. Because she is a pro at sitting up, and LOVES to stand (with assistance of course) we were able to get a few outdoor photos before the weather turns too cold! Enjoy!

(this one is my favorite)

(Her buddy Tugger)

(Tugger...not a fan of photo sessions.  Also not that big of a fan of being petted by Miss Madilynn - but he does very well with her, even though he looks scared to death!)

After reading last month's rundown...this 8 month mark really isn't much different.
She was already a pro at sitting by herself, the only new thing is that as of this last week (so just after she turned 8 months) she is able to "sit-up" on her own. This surprised the ladies at day-care this week, and is still surprising to me when I find her sitting up in her crib!! She hasn't pulled up on anything to stand on her own, although this week she has been pulling all of her toys out of their bin, flipping the bin over, and trying to use that to help her stand. She has stood for a few seconds by herself, and is starting to "cruise" along the couch more and more. Still not crawling...though she may be by the end of the week. She is able to get around her play area, but so far crawling backwards is as close to crawling as she has gotten. She is getting up on all fours more and more, so I don't think it will be too much longer before Matt will have to install our safety gate!
She still takes two naps a day, usually anywhere from 1-2 hours each. On days I don't work she wakes around 8 (which mommy LOVES!), and is still only usually up for ~ 1.5 hours before it is time for that first nap. Bedtime is still 8pm. She still just babbles - no distinct mama or dada...yet! She is wearing clothes ranging from 6-12 months depending on what it is. Her sleepers may need upgraded to 12 months very soon!
She has acquired tooth number two (on the bottom)- and I think # 3 might be on it's way.
(you can see that 1st and 2nd tooth pretty good in this photo)

(eyes are still blue)

(this is the bin she now tries to use to stand up with)

We have also upgraded to the ducky bath. Which is WONDERFUL (thank you Katie)! I missed it severely on our trip - I feel so much safer bathing her in this...she likes it too!

Until next time....

Brandon and Sarah's Wedding October 15, 2011

This past Saturday was Brandon (BJ) and Sarah's wedding, in Gainesville, FL.
This was the final stop on our trip to Florida, and the weather couldn't have been any better for such a beautiful outdoor wedding. Enjoy the photos from the evening. We had a great time, Madilynn had fun and partied until 10:30pm....wouldn't sleep at the reception, but was out before we even made it out of the parking lot!

Trip to Florida!

We have just retuned from our trip to Florida, and what a great trip it was!
Madilynn did wonderfully in the car, she is an excellent traveller!
Our first stop was in Fort Pierce Florida to visit with our old Navy friends Britt and Brian, and their two children...Brooklyn (2.5 yrs), and Cru (3 weeks older than Madilynn).
We stayed with them for a few nights, and even enjoyed an afternoon at the beach!
Madilynn and Cru

Madilynn "LOVES" Cru

Brooklyn wearing Matt's cowboy boots!

Brooklyn helping to be sure Madilynn is looking at the camera! (Precious...)

Miss Brooklyn

Cru and Madilynn ready for our first trip to the beach...since the rain FINALLY stopped!

Mommy didn't do a good job of watching the waves...we got a little too close!

After we left Britt and Brian's we went north to my grandma's for a few days. We had a great time, and Madilynn got to work on her "eating out" skills...she did pretty well!

After we left Grandma's we went further north to Gainesville for cousin BJ's wedding...
